Knowledge & AI

Reconciliation of company accounts (granting authority, specialist film accounting company, film production companies) with national accounts for competitiveness calculations.

Elevate Data To Knowledge

From Data to Knowledge

“Data can only be used in a context. The challenge of connected financial and sustainability reporting is that the management needs to work with data from different contexts: finance, environmental sustainability, HR (in many social sustainability matters), or legal (in governance matters.) Accountants, controlling, legal, and sustainability professionals use very different data.”

What is a Knowledge Base?

When we elevate accounting data to knowledge, we formulate them in simple, so-called triplet statements.

Subject Predicate Object
Accounting data
34000 is spent on Diesel fuel
Contextual metadata
Diesel fuel has a unit of liter (l)
34000 has a unit of HUF
Diesel fuel has a unit price of 500HUF/l
New inferred knowledge
34000 in HUF buys Diesel amount 68 l
1l of Diesel burns to 2.68 kg of CO₂
68l of Diesel burns to 128.24 kg of CO₂

Eviota: The application layer of our Motion Picture Dataspace

Continuous data coordination

ESG management involves more than just measurement; external and internal data must be continuously reconciled.

Our systems apply the four layers of the European Interoperability Framework, this allows an intelligent application to work across databases and organisational boundaries of the national film ecosystem. See: Dataweek²⁴ presentation ⇗.

Direct and indirect effects

Focus on important impacts

Eviota, or impact assessment module, starts with a materiality check, because it is useless to collect data on inmaterial items. This way we can reduce the data aquisition costs and audit needs.

The double materiality concept means that companies which follow the CSRD/IFRS/EFRS must report any items that are significant from an economic or environmental or social point of view.

Multiple languages, currencies

  • Our knowledge base handles different units of measurement and currencies

  • Definitions, descriptions entered in multiple languages, possible with all EU official or even regional languages.

Application of the standards

  • Industry Agnostic: standards that apply to all industries the same.
  • Industry Specific: both GRI & ESRS aim to develop industry-specific standards; ESRS has yet to create the Entertainment & Media standards
  • Company Specific: matters specific to an organisation
  • You must consider all three matters; because most music and audiovisual organisations are in the micro- or small category, they have few company specific matters. Therefore in these industries the focus is on industry-agnostic impacts, for example, resulting from the use of fuels, or paying equal wages for men and women on the set.

MMAT’s engine is a specially enhanced Wikibase. The Wikibase engine allows automatic data synchronisation with accounting and ERP systems, internal databases, and public statistical, legal, environmental and knowledge repositories.

Powered by Wikibase

MMAT’s engine is a specially enhanced Wikibase. The Wikibase engine allows automatic data synchronisation with accounting and ERP systems, internal databases, and public statistical, legal, environmental and knowledge repositories.

Reprexbase, the engine behind MMAT, extends the open-source Wikibase platform by adding statistical, ETL, financial, economic, and ESG functionalities.

Competitiveness and ESG knowledge

  • The knowledge base encodes film competitiveness concepts in both human and machine language, and can scan and calculate competitiveness indicators for any film across any year.

  • The knowledge base codifies the concepts of the ESG Act and the underlying ESRS standards and can calculate the GHG emissions (E), waste disposal indicators (E) or accident report (S) of a film project according to the ESG Act and ESRS standards.

    Data curation

    Data collection harmonisation

For the statutory indicators, we will specify the statutory data sources, their unit of measurement, the calculation formula and ensure that the data is available in this format.

We have processed the official KSH and Eurostat questionnaires to ensure that when we ask questions (to students, suppliers, pupils, etc.), they match the format of the statistical surveys, allowing our data to complement the official statistics.

    Need for continuous data coordination

ESG management involves more than just measurement; external and internal data must be continuously reconciled.

OpenProductions received the highest unweighed score from the evaluators, and were among the few selected investment targets out of 92 innovative startups in the Breakthrough Lab category
    • 💸 Due to irregularities in the EIT CCI KIC, our prize has not been paid out throughout the 2024 period , when we should have made OpenProductions available for the industry for intensive testing.
    • ⏱️ Furthermore, we had to halt development and postpone issuing shares because we had to reserve the right of oversight for the EIT KIC, and offer shares to them.
    • 💰 We develop our components without public funding and we cannot promise extensive free demonstrations.
    • 🤷🏻‍♀️ OpenProductions, our comprehensive solution will not be available until we claim our prize our find alternative funding with similar conditions.
    • 🔥 But Hollywood is literally burning, because climate change is real, and managing sustainability is a must:
    • 🚀 So let’s get started: invest into our solution with giving us work, donating us data, or investing into our excellent solution!
